Choirs

We have three school choirs - Rolling Hills Rockers, the fourth and fifth grade choir, Rolling Hills Jr. Rockers, the third grade choir, and Rolling Hills Ringers, the fourth and fifth grade handbell choir.  Choirs will present a concert of winter and holiday music on Thursday, November 17 at 2:15, 6:15, and 7:30 p.m.  All three choirs will begin in August, so please see the parent information and registration forms below and register your child now!

Recorder Club for third, fourth, and fifth graders will meet on Mondays at 8:00 a.m. in December, January, and conclude on February 6.  Students (and parents!) can bring their recorders and enjoy playing fun songs, learning new notes, and continue earning belts and beads. No permission slip is necessary.

Dear Third Grade Parents,

Rolling Hills Jr. Rockers, our 3rd grade choir, will meet for rehearsals on Tuesday mornings before school from 8:00 – 8:45 a.m. beginning August 30th. We will be studying the mechanics of good voice production and enjoying singing together.  We will sing a variety of winter, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Hanukkah songs in preparation for a concert on November 17th at 2:15, 6:15, and 7:30 p.m.

Any interested third grader may join by completing the online registration form (see link below).  Students should come prepared to listen, learn, and sing.  (If a choir member is not focused on these goals, he/she will receive a warning.  If the problems persist, he/she will lose the privilege of participating in choir.)  Please drop your child off at school by 7:55 each Tuesday morning so that choir may begin promptly at 8:00 in the Music Room.  Attendance will be taken at every rehearsal and your child will need to come regularly in order to participate in the concert.  (Only one unexcused absence will be allowed.  If your child is absent from school on a choir day, the absence is excused.  If your child is unable to attend for another reason, please send a note with him/her by the next choir rehearsal.)

Choir T-shirts can be ordered on the choir registration online form (2016 Third Grade Choir Registration form).   Students may want to wear these on Tuesdays, and the choir will wear these with jeans or dark pants for performances.  Students wear the same T-shirt for all three school choirs, and it is our same Rockers design in case you already have one at home!  Please complete the registration/T-shirt order form online as soon as possible.  Students ordering a T-shirt will need to bring a check for $10.00 made payable to Rolling Hills Elementary School no later than our second rehearsal.

We’re looking forward to working with your child in Rolling Hills Jr. Rockers!  Please feel free to call with any questions.  Thank you!

Sincerely,

Jo Ann Jones and Wendy Hamilton
