Student Council

We are so thrilled to start a new school year and welcome the opportunity to encourage all children to be leaders and make a difference in our community and others around us.
Our RHL Student Council is a leadership organization that gives our 3rd, 4th and 5th graders experience with the democratic process and opportunities to grow as leaders.  Student Council meets once a month for meetings with Mrs. Thurber (Assets)  and Mrs. Ampe (4th grade)  before school on Tuesdays from 7:45 – 8:45, as well as after school for designated/optional committee meetings throughout the school year.  Our Student Council representatives are elected by their classroom community and serve as role models, keeping their classmates and peers updated on projects we are participating in as a school.   They facilitate a class meeting once a month and may deliver information or look to acquire information through class votes on topics of discussion.  Our Student Council Leaders are the spirit of our school, organizing wonderful events like spirit days, and generating excitement and participation around service projects such as Pennies for Patients, The Denver Santa Shop Toy Drive, Food Drives, Book Drives, Soldier Appreciation projects etc.   We expect our Student Council leaders to be positive role models and lead our students in a positive and powerful direction by the example they set each and every day.
Please check with your child’s classroom teacher if your child is interested in being a part of Student Council this year as class elections will be held the week of August 29th - Sepember 2nd.   Please utilize the links on this page for a permission slip to run that includes all the information you need to know for your child to get involved.  Thank You!
